The Food Safety Practitioner & Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for managing and maintaining the food safety system at CDF for both the Flexible Packaging and Drum & Pail divisions. This position will serve as the SQF lead for the company and the HACCP coordinator.
This position is also responsible for supervising the quality technician team(s) for both the Flexible Packaging and Drum & Pail divisions. This position is also responsible for managing supplier quality, supporting production on quality issues, as well as being a part of the team that analyzes customer returns within the corrective action process.
What are we looking for:
· Someone with 3 to 5 years of manufacturing & supervisory experience.
· A minimum of 3 years working in a food safe environment.
· HACCP and food safety background in food packaging is necessary.
· Expertise in the SQF code is a plus.
· Strong critical thinking skills with Six Sigma experience a plus
· Expert in verbal and written communication. Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· People skills, willingness to work collaboratively, and ability to lead.
Your role:
Food Safety Practitioner:
· Acts as the SQF Practitioner
· Lead SQF steering team, SQF system reviews and meetings for cross function team
· Lead all 3rd party and customer food safety audits.
· Develop and execute corrective actions based upon audits findings.
· Perform, assign, and validate SQF related tasks on schedule.
· Verification and validation of all food safety and preventive control systems
· Lead the training of the team on Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety.
· Responsible for compliance with local, state, and federal food packaging regulations as well as identifying changes and advances in the state of the industry.
· Responsible for performing GMP audits of the facility.
· Responsible for internal system audits to ensure corporate compliance with the SQF code.
· Responsible for updating the CDF food safety policies and procedures to meet the updates to the SQF code.
· Follow all quality and food safety policies and procedures to ensure CDF products meet all applicable customer, regulatory and industry standards.
· Ensure that all records related to food safety are maintained and easily accessible for inspection/audit purposes.
Quality Control Supervisor:
· Supervise and lead quality technician team in both FPG and D&P divisions.
· Supplier quality: Manages all aspects of supplier quality.
· Customer management:
Manages analysis of customer returns and writes corrective action reports.
Responds and delivers any documentation requests from customers.
· Supports the production team when there are internal quality issues.
· Owns the MRB process and oversees any internal rework or sorts.
· Support engineering with production trials and qualification of new machines
· Performs internal ISO 9001:2015 audits.
· Manages compliance documentation.

Salary: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
