Position Title: Director of Manufacturing | CDF Corporation (Plymouth, MA)
At CDF Corporation, we’ve built our business on something simple: solving complex packaging challenges through engineering and manufacturing expertise.
For decades, we’ve grown as a privately held plastics packaging manufacturer, serving a diverse set of industries, expanding our capabilities, and building a reputation for reliability and technical strength.
Now, we’re at a turning point.
We’re evolving from:
· Tribal knowledge → Standardized systems
· Reactive maintenance → Reliability discipline
· Inconsistent execution → Repeatable, scalable performance
And that’s where this role comes in…
This is not a “Plant Manager” role-it is a career-defining opportunity for a leader who has proven experience scaling operations. The ideal candidate started in engineering, building a deep understanding of how machines and processes actually work, then transitioned into operations where they took ownership of production, people, and performance. Over time, they evolved into a systems thinker- moving beyond daily firefighting to establish structure, discipline, and repeatable processes. Along the way, they developed strong leaders, created accountability across teams, drove continuous improvement efforts and has had a track record of delivering measurable performance improvements.
We don’t need someone to maintain what we have. We need someone to help us build what’s next.
You’ll lead manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering across multiple divisions with a clear mandate:
· Improve equipment reliability and uptime
· Standardize changeovers, troubleshooting, and operating procedures
· Reduce dependency on individual operators
Deliver measurable results in:
o OEE
o Cost Reduction
o Labor Efficiency
This is about turning strong operations into disciplined, repeatable, high-performing systems.
Who You Are
You’ve followed a path that looks something like this:
· Built your foundation in Mechanical, Industrial, or Plastics Engineering
· Stepped into operations leadership and learned accountability on the floor
· Realized that firefighting isn’t scalable, and started building systems
· Developed leaders, not just output
· Experience operating across multiple lines, departments, or facilities
Why CDF
· Privately held, stable, and growing
· Strong leadership alignment around improving operations
· Real opportunity to build systems, not just inherit them
· High visibility and impact across the organization
Bottom Line
If you’ve built your career from engineering into operations, and know how to turn machines, people, and systems into scalable performance, this is the opportunity for you.
This role is hands-on from a technical and operational standpoint, if your experience has been primarily administrative or removed from the manufacturing floor, it’s likely you won’t be the right fit..
