Inspector / Packer

 

Position summary: Complete required machine tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications required:

  • Focus on quality as well as production
  • Dependable
  • Independent worker
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

 

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Produce product  according to traveler specifications
  • Inspects finished packages to verify correct code, code legibility, package integrity
  • Package product according to specifications
  • Label boxes according to specifications
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities as requested
  • Clean and sanitize processing equipment and facility as per Master Sanitation Schedule and Daily Cleaning Schedule
  • Follow Detailed Cleaning Procedures
  • Documents required production data
  • Packs and palletizes product in a manner to preserve integrity of product
  • Maintains order/housekeeping in the work area  throughout the shift
  • Inspects process equipment for signs of wear, insanitary conditions, etc., and notifies management or maintenance if problems noticed

Physical demands and work environment:

 

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is/or may be exposed to high noise levels that require hearing protection.  Employee may also be required to wear safety glasses and/or safety gloves.

 

Performance standards:

Yearly performance appraisal

 

Schedule: Monday through Thursday

  • 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

 

 

Heat Seal Machine Operator

 

Position summary: Produce and package quality heat seal liners.

 

Qualifications required:

  • Focus on quality as well as production
  • Dependable
  • Independent worker
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to read a ruler and micrometer

 

Qualifications desired:

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Perform leak test and record inspection results
  • Perform In-Process Inspections
  • Load machine
  • Set machine heat and length settings when changing to a new product according to specifications
  • Produce product
  • Package product according to specifications
  • Label boxes according to specifications
  • Complete pertinent paperwork and submit it to appropriate personnel
  • Report quality issues to supervisors

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

 

Qualifications desired:

See above

 

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Make boxes, label boxes
  • Load machine
  • Separate finished product and scrap
  • Box product and verify packaging quantity according to specification
  • Palletize product according to specification
  • Conduct in process visual inspections
  • Report quality problems to necessary personnel
  • Replenish supplies and clean area at end of shift
